Reviewing all drawings against approved submittals, not just bid-phase specs
Flagging tolerance mismatches or layout ambiguities before cutting or sourcing
Confirming any anchor, support, or edge condition updates made post-bid
Commonly caught issues include:
Ceramic tile modules with offset bolt patterns from outdated drawings
Fire-rated glazing packages without updated mullion spacing
Changes in edge polish spec not communicated post-architectural signoff
Buyers are getting more proactive about this—searching:
“glass distributor who verifies install drawings”
“ceramic supplier who checks final field dimensions”
“reduce rework from drawing misalignment.”
You don’t need to redline the entire plan set—but you do need to ask better questions, earlier. Because every drawing you verify today is one less rework call tomorrow.
