Create labeled waste zones using bins or bulk boxes (steel cages for heavier brick is common)

Train warehouse teams to recognize material types and understand contamination limits

Partner with local or regional recyclers who accept separated refractory types

Track volume by stream and disposal/reuse outcome in monthly ESG ops reports

Equipment and Safety

Use a dedicated forklift or pallet jack for waste transport

Store outdoors or in covered areas to prevent moisture saturation

Follow respirator protocols when handling ceramic fiber waste

Provide material safety data sheets (MSDS) for all materials handled
