How to Fix Risk Blindspots Before It Ends Up in the PM’s Post-Mortem

By Glazix | June 6, 2025

Every job has a surprise. The good suppliers are the ones who saw it coming.

PMs write entire post-mortems around “what no one flagged.” And often, that includes install tolerances, curing conditions, sequencing conflicts, or prep detail gaps tied to spec complexity. The fix isn’t technical—it’s procedural.

Where blindspots typically occur:

Anchor systems change, but install sequence isn’t re-validated

Weather impacts ramp-up and no one models delay exposure

Substituted material introduces a new inspection step, uncoordinated

Distributors that neutralize post-mortem mentions:

Walk the drawings as an installer would—not just a material shipper

Provide a risk index based on job size, weather window, install team complexity

Follow up mid-install to validate sequence handoffs

The PM may never say “thank you” for the heads-up. But you’ll be on their speed dial when the next spec hits their desk.
