It wasn’t in the RFP. But it showed up on Day 3—and your name took the hit.
Risk blindspots are the things nobody flags in procurement but everybody feels in execution: missed interdependencies, thermal lag, tolerances under strain. And when a blindspot derails the schedule, the PM doesn’t blame the spec—they blame the supplier who didn’t say anything.
How blindspots become trust killers:
Material behavior shifts under ambient jobsite conditions
Compatibility between trades (e.g., coatings vs. castables) isn’t pre-modeled
Anchoring, expansion, or insulation tolerance issues that surface during cure
The supplier who wins the long game:
Reviews submittals and drawings for practical install conflict, not just technical spec match
Raises cross-trade timing issues before shipment
Offers risk overlays in field terms: temp, humidity, spacing, ramp-up
The PM will remember the vendor who saved them from the risk no one else flagged.
