As energy codes tighten and envelope performance becomes central to design, thermal conductivity in glass is gaining boardroom attention. For procurement teams sourcing IGUs, fire-rated assemblies, or even decorative glass in temperature-sensitive zones, thermal conductivity is no longer an engineering afterthought—it’s a spec that shapes product selection, glazing profiles, and total cost of ownership.

Distributors play a vital role in helping buyers interpret thermal data and align product selection with climate zone, orientation, and HVAC design. Where a direct manufacturer may push their in-house solution, distributors can offer side-by-side options—double- vs. triple-glazed, low-E vs. solar control coatings, argon-filled vs. vacuum-sealed units—and how each performs in terms of U-value and condensation resistance.
