Why Performance Benchmarks Should Be in Every Strategic Account Plan

By Glazix | June 10, 2025

Your strategic accounts don’t just want glass — they want visibility.

For high-volume buyers like glazing contractors or large commercial builders, the procurement function is under pressure to quantify supplier performance. That’s why performance benchmarks should be baked into every strategic account plan from day one.

By tracking and sharing data on order turnaround, defect rates in custom laminated safety glass, average lead times for low-E coatings, and field service responsiveness, you give clients tools to justify their continued partnership.

More importantly, benchmarks become conversation starters. If you spot that a client’s install teams consistently request last-minute changes on IGU specs, that’s a process improvement opportunity. If delivery windows for mixed product orders are stretching beyond target SLAs, it might be time to add a satellite distribution point.

Strategic account planning isn’t a one-time presentation. It’s an ongoing dialogue backed by real data, and performance benchmarks are the shared language that keeps both sides aligned.

When clients can see, measure, and act on performance trends — and when you co-own that journey — retention becomes a natural byproduct.
